Association is based in the Houston, TX area

The Houston Chapter (HADOA) is proud to report its successful February and March Luncheon meetings. Marsha Brazeale, CPLTA, was the featured speaker at the February 7, 2002 Luncheon Meeting. Her topic was "Planning and Organizing Division Order & Lease Records Document Imaging." The luncheon was well attended and all seemed pleased to have heard Marsha's message.

A new committee on the HADOA Board, "the Prize Patrol", has been diligently soliciting area merchants and service providers for donations for door prizes for our luncheon meetings. Their efforts have resulted in a out 15 door prizes per luncheon. Each luncheon has a theme. The February Theme was, of course, Valentines Day. The March theme was, of course, St. Patrick's Day, so each table was set with a St. Patrick's Day center piece, which was then raffled as a door prize.

The March 7, 2002 Luncheon Meeting featured J. P. Bryan, Chairman & CEO of Novistar and Sr. Managing Director, of Torch Energy Advisors. Mr. Bryan tackled a big topic, and one that is very close to his heart as a historian, "Celebrating Texas History Month". The audience was spellbound and entertained with the fascinating and sometimes amusing and not very well known facts in Texas history. (And many more prizes from the "Prize Patrol".)

The HADOA Board has agreed to extend its luncheon meetings to include on full hour of lecture in agreement with the NADOA Certification Committee to allow 1 certification credit for an HADOA lecture/luncheon. A greater participation with larger attendance is expected for future meetings.
